Women running viable nano and micro enterprises in retail, food, and services stay invisible to traditional underwriting, simply because they lack a credit history. A first-loss guarantee program changed what lenders could see. UGRO Capital sourced borrowers against criteria built jointly with Samhita, and every case went through independent review before onboarding. The program has enabled ₹5 crore in formal credit, in loan sizes from ₹2 lakh to ₹10 lakh.

In Gujarat, 2,600 informal women entrepreneurs, many of them new to credit, gained access to formal loans through a ₹1 crore philanthropic credit guarantee supported by 360 ONE Foundation. The guarantee enabled ₹10 crore in lending, with an average loan size of ₹40,000. Over the past two years, the women have shown strong repayment behaviour, and the guarantee has helped first-time borrowers reach formal finance. By opening access to credit at scale, the initiative is helping women entrepreneurs grow their businesses and take a step toward financial inclusion.
