People do not need one program. They need a ladder.

The Livelihood Network turns eight separate rungs into one climbable structure, so people can take the next step without starting again.

01The rungs exist. The ladder is missing.

Why it matters

The resources people need already exist, but they are fragmented across training providers, employers, banks, platforms, schemes and community institutions. The Livelihood Network makes those pieces work together around a person’s journey.

02Five ways to climb

Five core pathways

Livelihood network pathways
  1. 01

    Skills to jobs.

Training mapped to current employer demand, followed by placement and retention support.

  2. 02

    Informal to formal finance.

Credit readiness, Returnable Grants or guarantees where relevant, documentation and lender connections.

  3. 03

    Enterprise to markets.

Business capability, formalisation, product readiness and access to ONDC or institutional buyers.

  4. 04

    Progress to protection.

Insurance, pensions, entitlements, health and resilience support that prevent shocks from erasing income gains.

  5. 05

    One intervention to the next.

A common view that helps partners identify the next opportunity instead of repeating onboarding.

03What each partner holds

What partners gain

Layer resources around the same cohort so impact compounds rather than resetting with every grant.

04Sign up once. Keep climbing.

How it works

A person signs up once. From there, the network tracks their progress and lines up the next piece of support automatically, whether that's a loan, a course or a scheme. Every partner sees the same picture and can act on it.

One place to learn.

Training content hosted once, drawn on by every provider in the network, so a course built in Bengaluru reaches a person in Bihar without being rebuilt from scratch.

One place to get hired.

A jobs marketplace where employers search for people who are already skilled, verified and credit-ready.

One alternative to predatory credit.

A path that moves an entrepreneur from a moneylender's terms to a formal loan.

One way into the market.

MSMEs and women entrepreneurs connected to local, institutional and digital buyers, reaching customers a single shopfront never could.

One door into welfare.

Every scheme a person qualifies for, discoverable and enrollable from the same place.

One record per person.

Onboarded once, tracked across every intervention, so progress counts everywhere it's made.

Proof it works

Farmers and FPOs typically have to navigate capability-building, finance, government schemes and market access as separate relationships, often starting from scratch at every institution. The Livelihood Acceleration Network (LAN) brought these together into one coordinated pathway: Walmart Foundation provided catalytic funding and strategic support; Samhita-CGF orchestrated the network, designed the program and coordinated partners; technical partners Dvara Holdings and SSP strengthened agricultural and enterprise capability; DCB Bank and Samunnati unlocked formal credit through Credit Guarantees; government partners including CSC, ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) and Maharashtra's Agricultural Produce Market Committees connected farmers to schemes and social protection; and ONDC opened up digital-commerce and market access. Together, the network delivered a 159% increase in annual farm income for farmers across rural Maharashtra. FPO turnover tripled from ₹4.4 crore to ₹13.1 crore, and the program's seven women-led FPOs grew turnover 18 times over.
