Organization Overview

Samhita-CGF is an impact catalyst that has been a leader in India’s CSR landscape for 16 years. Over this time, we have partnered with more than 250 funders and 500 impact organizations, co-creating solutions that are measurable, scalable, and sustainable. Together, these efforts have improved the lives of over 17 million Indians across 31 states and union territories. Through our initiatives, which are CSR and FCRA compliant, we address key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Role Overview

We are looking for a communications professional who thinks like a strategist. You will help shape Samhita-CGF's public narrative. You will turn it into positioning, advocacy and convenings that bring funders, financial institutions, government and sector peers together. You will work closely with senior leadership and the programme, MEL and catalytic finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and run Samhita's communications strategy, including audiences, core narrative, campaign themes and success metrics.
  • Build and manage the leadership thought-leadership calendar: opinion essays, LinkedIn, speaking points and podcasts.
  • Work with MEL and programme teams to turn data and field evidence into knowledge products and points of view.
  • Track policy and sector developments and translate them into timely positions.
  • Plan and run flagship events, closed-door roundtables, webinars and panels with funders, FIs, government and peers.
  • Secure and prepare leadership for external speaking slots, panels and awards.
  • Develop funder- and client-facing storytelling that supports new partnerships, renewals and expansions.
  • Write and edit across formats, including articles, whitepapers, case studies, narrative decks and the annual report, and maintain brand consistency with design and tech teams.

Skills-Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-4 years in journalism, PR, public affairs, advocacy or strategic communications, ideally in the social sector, philanthropy, CSR or development consulting.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with strong editorial judgement.
  • Experience planning and running events or multi-stakeholder convenings.
  • Ability to research unfamiliar domains quickly and make complex ideas, such as blended finance and impact data, accessible.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation across parallel projects, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ownership, maturity and openness to occasional field visits.
  • Good to have: media relations experience, familiarity with India's CSR and livelihoods ecosystem, and working knowledge of LinkedIn analytics and email marketing.
