Overview
The Garhwal region in Uttarakhand is severely afflicted with out-migration of employable youth, due to lack of job opportunities. Similarly, there are many other less developed states in India which are facing out-migration problems. This hampers the economic activity of the state. Thus we at eGramServe aim at generating high quality employment opportunities for rural youth in remote and hilly regions of Uttarakhand by setting up BPO centers in the region. We first provide in-house vocational training to the rural youth and then hire them in our BPOs established in these regions. We are attempting to create a long-term employment in hilly regions by enabling employees to earn a higher income and ensuring community benefit through co-owning these BPO centres.
Model
We leverage the untapped human resource and low-cost of operations in the region to provide extremely competitive BPO services. We engage the local community as a significant stakeholder and our employees being from the same communities feel a great sense of pride and responsibility towards the organization. This enables us to provide consistent quality & service delivery levels over the long-term. We set up BPO centres and then train the enrolled youth. The youth are then placed within our BPO centres.Products/Services

We take a short aptitude and reading test along with an interview to judge the attitude of the applicant and shortlist those who qualify. Shortlisted candidates undergo a 3-6 month training, and are paid a stipend during the period.

- We teach them basic communication skills and other etiquettes while engaging a conversation with professionals
- The trainees are taught about publishing elements which covers up the work specific aspect
- We also have another 3 month course on advance training where the youth is taught XML programming, HTML, CSS and other content rendering software.

Team
Prabhat Agarwal, Chairman
Prabhat is a serial entrepreneur and co-founder & CEO of Parsec Technologies Ltd, leading technology company in the contact center solutions space in India. He is a B. Tech. from IIT Delhi and MBA from IIM-A, and has been conferred the prestigious Significant Contribution to National Development Award by IIT Delhi Alumni Association. Prabhat is also a charter member of TiE which has a mission to promote the entrepreneurial spirit in the student community across India. Prior to Parsec, he cofounded Whowhere, Inc. a global people search portal, which was acquired by Lycos. He has worked with HCL and Feedback Ventures in his early career days. He currently runs the Aravali Scholars' initiative in Gurgaon where underprivileged students from class 8 12 are offered free coaching & mentoring. Prabhat personally coaches these students in their 2 centers in Bijwasan Delhi and in DLF Gurgaon in his home.
Biplab Saha, CEO and Co-Founder
Biplab has over 20 years professional experience in the IT Services & BPO industry. He has been actively involved in the rural BPO space since March 2009 when he became part of Source for Change a CSR initiative of the Piramal Group in Dist Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Prior to this he has been in leadership roles in high-growth offshore BPO ventures that include a mortgage-origination company that he co-founded in the US. His last corporate role was as the Sr. Vice President of CyberMedia Services Ltd, an offshore publishing service SBU of the CyberMedia group. Biplab is a B.Tech and an MBA from IIT Delhi.
Bipin Arora, Vice President and Co-Founder
Bipin has over 15 years experience in ISP services, mobile VAS and SaaS solutions. He has worked with telecom service providers like Sprint-RPG & Tata Communications, and with mCommerce companies like CellNext and ValueFirst where he handled key roles in partner relationships and b2b sales. Prior to joining eGramServe Bipin had founded MySales, a low-cost web-based sales-CRM offering in the SMB space. Bipin’s key role at eGramServe is to manage the service delivery function for client projects. Bipin holds a Bachelors in Commerce from Delhi University and an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad.
