About us

Samhita.org is a philanthropic initiative of the Nadathur Trust. Though samhita.org is meant for all stakeholders in the social sector, our first phase of activity will focus on providing greater visibility, more resources and a support system for social organizations (with an initial focus on NGOs)

NGOs will be able to

  • Receive donations; find volunteers, employees and service providers; get market access, expert advice and sector knowledge; essential ingredients to build and grow effective organizations.
  • Showcase their credibility, effectiveness and social impact.
  • Use our web tools and resources to engage and manage donors, volunteers, supporters and service providers and build lasting relationships with supporters.
  • Access a wide range of knowledge resources. To begin with, a legal resource section put together by a leading law firm will offer a detailed "dummy's guide" for legal and regulatory matters.
  • Connect with experts who will answer questions in functional and technical areas ranging from legal queries to financial management.
  • Reach out to legal, financial and other service providers who are willing to offer low cost services.

Individuals will be able to

Learn about, engage with and contribute to the social sector in ways that are most convenient for them. Individuals can:

  • Learn about the sector, its challenges, innovative approaches and the social transformation that it is creating.
  • Read news, interviews, stories from the field, case studies, research reports, tools and best practices.
  • Choose credible social organizations based on their interests and criteria. Decide how they want to engage and contribute – through donations, volunteering, providing expertise or even by contributing stories and articles on the portal.
  • Give quickly and effectively - our robust reporting mechanism will help them receive regular feedback on the progress made by the social organization that they support.

Service providers will be able to

  • Use our social ecosystem as a marketplace to profile their services, build a brand and solicit customers.
  • Feature their customer ratings and testimonials to help distinguish themselves from peers.
