Priya’s work has spanned the spectrum of social entrepreneurship and financial consulting. She has helped incubate several social enterprises across the world before founding Samhita Social Ventures. Priya has Masters degrees from Yale University, University of Michgan – Ann Arbor and Mumbai University. She has worked at the Poverty Action Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Arthur Andersen among several other ventures.
Anil served in the IT industry for over 25 years before pursuing his passion for the social sector. In his last role as Country Manager for Education, Anil led Intel’s effort in transforming education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Jayasimha (Jay) is a management graduate from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and has spent his last 17 years with HDFC Life as an executive vice president. His professional career of 31 years spans across public sector & private sector organisations, with core focus on organisation building, managing large teams, businesss delivery, developing and grooming future leaders. He brings in rich experience and expertise in both sales & operations to the Samhita team.
A qualified finance professional (ACA, AICWA, ACS), Sudhir has served articles with A F Ferguson & Co and served MNCs – Shell, Siemens, Ferodo, Colgate Palmolive and Heinz (as CFO and Finannce Director) as well as Owner Managed groups – Mittals, Bahwans and Mustafa Sultan as Group CFO. He has worked briefly in Australia, Mexico and for 22 years in the Middle East before joining Samhita.
Adwait has an impressive track record of starting a business in environment services and growing its revenue manifold. Prior to being an entrepreneur, Adwait worked with several leading corporate houses. At Samhita, he manages CSR projects, Rural Marketing and BoP outreach, drawing from his training in Sustainable Enterprise.
Anand is an ex-Civil Servant who worked in the Telecom sector for over 15 years before moving to the social sector. He has a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Bangalore and a Masters in Business Administration from Cranfield University.
Anushree Parekh comes with extensive research experience with private and third sector organizations in the UK. Prior to Samhita, she worked as a researcher with New Policy Institute, a progressive think-tank based in London, where she designed and implemented customized research solutions for a range of clients from corporates to governments on a variety of socio-economic topics. Anushree is an Economics graduate from St. Xavier’s College.
Samir is an entrepreneur by passion with 13 years of experience in General Management, Business Development, Operations, Recruitment and Customer Relationship Management. A highly motivated and passionate professional who has applied and developed management skills throughout his career, Samir has been active in the start-up environment for over five years.
Deepak brings with him over a decade of rich on-the-ground experience working with low-income households and emerging markets primarily in Asia. He is a frequent speaker at academic institutions on developmental issues. Deepak is a management graduate from Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal and has done his BA in Economics from Delhi University.
Bringing a deep technology, start-up and internet industry experience to Samhita, Jagpreet’s worked as a freelance CTO for other start-ups and has 13 years of tech experience. He is also the co-founder of two start-ups – GypsyShack.com – an Immersive Holidays portal, and Mitraweb.in and agri-mechanization company. Jagpreet holds an MBA from INSEAD, France and a B.E. from BIT, Durg,
In his free time, Jagpreet enjoys Linux distro hopping, birdwatching and road trips.
Mikhail has been with Samhita for over 3 years and leads the Marketing Communications team.
He began his career as a video journalist covering human interest stories across Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. Prior to joining Samhita, he worked as a News Producer with India’s leading business news channel, CNBC-TV18, where he produced prime time newscasts.
Noel has more than 20 years of experience in the social sector with Family Health International (FHI 360) and Committed Communities Development Trust (CCDT) in the field of finance and accounts. Prior to Samhita, he worked with Family Health International (FHI 360), an international organization working in the field of HIV/AIDS and Public Health.
Anirudhan’s aspiration to work in the development sector led him to join Samhita.
Prior to Samhita, he worked in the Engineering Research Center at Tata Motors for three years, followed by a one year PG Diploma in Liberal Studies from the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University. As part of the program, he interned with International Innovation Corps (IIC) on Millennium Alliance – a grant-making body for social entrepreneurs in collaboration with USAID, FICCI and World Bank.
A strong desire to bring a positive difference to the community around him drew Anmol to Samhita.
Prior to joining Samhita, Anmol completed his B.E (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering along with a minor in Politics, Economics & Philosophy from BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus.
Anmol is the only student in the history of his university to have been elected by students as the President and General Secretary and also be nominated by Hon’ble KM Birla to represent his campus at the Senate level.
Arjun Prasad Mahankali comes with almost two decades of experience in development and
CSR. He is adroit in Rural Transformation Programmes such as Natural Resource Management (NRM) including watershed development, participatory irrigation management and sustainable agriculture. He did his post graduation in Sociology at Osmania University Hyderabad, holds a degree in Law and is pursuing MBA as well.
Neha comes with more than 6 years of experience in Human Resources in sectors including Investment Advisory, Event management, Manufacturing, CSR and Training and Development. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Devi Ahilya University and a Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics. She also enjoys dancing, gardening and pencil sketching.
Pranav’s innate desire to bring about social change made him join Samhita. Prior to Samhita, he was part of the Young India Fellowship program, where a Post Graduate Diploma in Liberal Studies exposed him to the many underlying complexities of India’s prevalent social issues. He has also worked at Mu Sigma, an Analytics firm in Bangalore for two years.
Prior to joining Samhita, Rasikha worked as a Research Associate at NEERMAN, handling projects in monitoring and evaluation and impact assessment for clients ranging from corporate to multi-national organizations and donor agencies.
Sandhya Tenneti comes with more than six years of work experience in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) field. She has a Bsc (hons) from the University of Bradford, Masters in International Studies from North Carolina State University and a MS in Energy Policy and Climate from Johns Hopkins University.
Sharad brings over a decade of experience in domains as diverse and varied as Financial Services, Technology & Manufacturing covering geographies like Europe, UK, Australia & South East Asia. He has worked across functions including but not limited to Management Consulting, Human Resources, Business Development, IT Infrastructure & Operations.
Shubhra has been a Strategy & Operations consultant for the last 7 years, before moving to Samhita. She has worked primarily in the areas of customer and market strategy across industries. She has completed her Bachelors in Engineering in Computer Science from Mumbai University and her Masters in Management from Warwick Business School.
Prior to joining Samhita, Solomon worked with iVolunteer, where he managed the Corporate Employee Volunteering program, Senior Management probono initiative and Skilled Volunteers. Solomon holds a Masters degree in Social Work from College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan. He completed his Bachelors in Sociology and Anthropology from St.Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Outside of work he loves cricket, wrestling and mechanics.
Aby graduated with a degree in Industrial Psychology from M. S. University of Baroda and pursued his Master’s in Social Work thereafter from Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work. Aby worked with The Lighthouse Project prior to Samhita, and comes with experience in the fields of education and livelihood.
Anshula has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from SRM University and a PG Diploma in Liberal Studies from the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University. She has previously worked on designing and implementing a marketplace literacy program in rural Tamil Nadu in collaboration with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and with the artisans of Odisha to enhance their livelihood.
Ishita is a creative marketing professional with 4 years of experience across various aspects of branding, strategy, business communication design, consumer insights and partnerships. An exciting blend of creativity and compassion is what brings her to Samhita and she aspires to make the best use of her marketing acumen for driving social change and impact.
Krishna has over 2 years of experience in qualitative consumer research and has handled clients across diverse industries. Her aspiration to work in the social and development space led her to join Samhita. Krishna has completed her Post Graduation in Communication Management from Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, Pune.
Palak has 2 years of experience in Operations and Project Management in software services and media industry. She also holds a BA(H) degree in Economics from Miranda house and a Post Graduation Diploma in Liberal Studies from Ashoka University. Being a Young India Fellow sparked her interest in working in the development sector which led her to Samhita. Travel and food occupy a major part of her mind.
Pankaja has recently finished her Masters in International Communications and Development, from City, University of London. Before her stint in London, she was working as a Research and Communications Associate at India GHG Program, WRI India. She has been working in the development sector for more than three years.
A desire to pursue a career in social sector research led Richa to intern with the Tata Steel Rural Development Society followed by a traineeship with Samhita. Her roles in both capacities included fieldwork, quantitative and qualitative analysis. Richa completed her Bachelors in Economics Honours from Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi.
Shahzarin has a dual degree in Electronics Engineering and Economics from BITS Pilani and a PG Diploma in Liberal Studies from the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University. She was a financial analyst at an investment bank for few years before moving to the development sector. She has prior experience of working with the communities, non-profits and social enterprises.
Sumayya comes with over 5 years of experience in handling and managing accounts of several NGOs. Prior to Samhita, she has worked with NGOs such as Magic Bus India Foundation and Akansha Foundation where she was responsible for managing all the accounting work up to finalization.
With degrees in mechanical engineering and liberal arts, augmented with diverse work experiences ranging from leading production on a factory shop floor to adopting a school in a remote Himalayan village, Utkarsh brings with himself a breadth of knowledge and perspectives. An innately curious generalist, he loves working outside the box, dabbling with technology of the future, and building meaningful relationships.
Apart from pursuing her B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Mohali, Vanya remained an active member of AIESEC. She co-founded an online magazine- EP!C, where she managed a team of more than 40 writers. Always seeking new adventures; she joined a startup after college managing their web sales and MIS. But her heart was set out for more meaningful experiences notably in the development sector.
Vigneshwaran is a post-graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay with a specialization in technology and development. During his years at IIT, Bombay he developed a keen interest in research pertaining to drinking water and clean cooking energies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked in various thermal power plants as a commissioning engineer.
Vinay is a Development Economist with degrees from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and SOAS, University of London. He has previously worked with Ethex- a social investment platform in Oxford where he coauthored the UK’s first positive investing report in 2014 and interned with Ratnakar Bank where he worked with farmer co-operatives in rural Maharashtra.
Anuprita has a Masters in Development from Azim Premji University and a Bachelors in English Literature from University of Pune. As a part of her MA curriculum, she has conducted a research project on social vulnerabilities of commercial sex workers in Pune. She is passionate about exploring different cultures and social dynamics.
Avantika comes to us with over 10 years of experience in Administration. Prior to Samhita, she worked in Business Access India Pvt. Ltd. as an Admin Manager. During her time there she interacted with several international clients. Avantika completed her MA in history from the University of Mumbai.
Prior to joining Samhita, Clifford was working in Western Region Social Service Forum as a Resource Mobilization/Partner Support Officer where he was actively involved in fund mobilization, donor management, partner support services and disaster management.
Diksha is an Electrical Engineering graduate from University of Mumbai. She also holds an International Baccalaureate Diploma from New Zealand. Apart from studying engineering, Diksha was also working as a Corporate Manager with AIESEC.
Dhatri is rank holder of the Gujarat Board and a qualified Chartered Accountant with a Bachelors in Commerce. She has worked for more than 7 years in the Accounts & Finance sector. She has 3 years of experience as an article assistant and more than 4 years of post qualifications experience.
Jency’s aspiration to work in the development sector led her to Samhita. She had secured multiple awards including -Annie Saraya Gold Medal and Mr. & Mrs. Mukadams Award for securing First Rank in Bachelors in Social Work at Nirmala Niketan.
Prior to joining Samhita, Mahi worked at Aangan, a child protection organisation. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Business Studies from the University of Warwick.
Malcolm is a full-stack developer with experience in the telecom sector and a Bachelors Degree in IT. He also has a keen interest in studying the psychology of human-computer interaction and cybersecurity.
A keen interest in the social sector and drive to be an agent of social change drew Mayuri to Samhita. Prior to joining Samhita, she completed her bachelors in social sciences and Masters in Development Policy, Planning and Practice from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Tuljapur.
Namrata has worked with Medha Patkar in the Ghar Bachao Ghar Banao Andolan and Narmada Bachao Andolan. She has also interned with NGOs like Aaranyak, Sabuj Sangha, FAsCE India etc. She has a Masters in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Ojas’s desire to work in the social sector stems from her volunteering experience with Enactus, an international not for profit organisation that believes in leveraging entrepreneurial action to solve social problems. She was part of the Young India Fellowship, a one-year post-graduate diploma in Liberal Studies. She also has a bachelors degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce.
Prior to joining Samhita, Ragini was a Project Associate at Industree Foundation, which builds sustainable livelihoods for rural Indian artisans with a focus on women’s empowerment. In the past, she has interned with international NGOs Search for Common Ground and SOS Children’s Villages, as well as The Hindu. She has a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Journalism from American University (Washington DC).
Rhea has recently completed her graduation from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai specializing in Economics and Statistics. She has been part of research projects that have included qualitative as well as quantitative analysis. Her year-long experience of volunteering as a teacher with an NGO, motivated her to seek a career in the development sector.
Shreya is an economics graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. During her college years, she worked extensively with Make a Difference Foundation to increase learning levels among children in the villages of West Bengal. After graduating, she pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Liberal Studies as part of the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University.
With more than 6 years of experience in the IT, ITES and real estate industries, Snehal has a proven track record of senior-level executive support, management, and coordination. She has a strong ability to streamline processes, maximize efficiency, and foster professional relationships within organizations.
