Priya’s work has spanned the spectrum of social entrepreneurship and financial consulting. She has helped incubate several social enterprises across the world before founding Samhita Social Ventures. Priya has Masters degrees from Yale University, University of Michgan – Ann Arbor and Mumbai University. She has worked at the Poverty Action Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Arthur Andersen among several other ventures.
Mr Vaidyanathan has over 40 years of experience in the field of CSR and social development. He was Head of operations for CIDA- Asia, Tsunami rehabilitation. He has also been a special advisor on health, education and disaster management to the Government of India and state governments of Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka. He holds a post graduate degree iEconomics and a Masters in Philosophy in Population Science and has participated in special skill courses in health economics in Amsterdam and in LFA models in Denmark. He was also a visiting professor at the University of South Florida, USA on HIV/AIDS.
Anil served in the IT industry for over 25 years before pursuing his passion for the social sector. In his last role as Country Manager for Education, Anil led Intel’s effort in transforming education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT). He has a Bachelor’s in Electronics & Communications engineering from the University of Mysore. and has done an Advanced Managment P
Dipak is a business, retail, marketing, and communications leader who has three decades of rich experience in some of the premier organizations in retail, brand-building, and advertising along with stints in banking and entrepreneurship. He did his MBA from IIM Calcutta, and MA (Hons) in Economics from BITS Pilani.
Sudhir is a qualified Rank Holder Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant as well as a Company Secretary with over 40 years of post-qualification experience. His career has included stints with MNCs in India like Siemens, Ferodo, Colgate and Heinz India (where he was CFO & Finance Director) as well as a 22-year-old stint in the Middle East and Mexico. Sudhir is a Graduate from Sydenham College.
Anand is an ex-Civil Servant who worked in the Telecom sector for over 15 years before moving to the social sector. He has a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Bangalore and a Masters in Business Administration from Cranfield University.
Neha comes with more than 6 years of experience in Human Resources in sectors including Investment Advisory, Event management, Manufacturing, CSR and Training and Development. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Devi Ahilya University.
Adwait has an impressive track record of starting a business in environment services and growing its revenue manifold. Prior to being an entrepreneur, Adwait worked with several leading corporate houses. At Samhita, he manages CSR projects, Rural Marketing and BoP outreach, drawing from his training in Sustainable Enterprise. He has a Bachelor degree in Production Engineering from the University of Pune.
Anushree Parekh comes with extensive research experience with private and third sector organizations in the UK. Prior to Samhita, she worked as a researcher with New Policy Institute, a progressive think-tank based in London, where she designed and implemented customized research solutions for a range of clients from corporates to governments on a variety of socio-economic topics. Anushree is an Economics graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and has pursued her Master’s degree in Development Studies from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London.
Megha comes with 15 years of corporate experience in sales and business development. Prior to Samhita, she worked with several leading media organizations like STAR India Pvt Ltd, Turner International India Pvt Ltd, The Times of India and Mid Day Infomedia Ltd. Megha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management.
Deepak brings with him over a decade of rich on-the-ground experience working with low-income households and emerging markets primarily in Asia. He is a frequent speaker at academic institutions on developmental issues. Deepak is a management graduate from Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal and has done his BA in Economics from Delhi University.
As a business journalist with The Economic Times, Ahona comes with considerable research experience in development issues with a special focus on philanthropy and social enterprises in Asia. Prior to that she was part of the founding team of MIT Foundation’s project – One Laptop Per Child in Brussels, and worked with the European Commission agencies to raise funds for the program. Ahona has a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Public and Social Policy, from LSE, U.K.
Noel has more than 20 years of experience in the social sector with Family Health International (FHI 360) and Committed Communities Development Trust (CCDT) in the field of finance and accounts. Prior to Samhita, he worked with Family Health International (FHI 360), an international organization working in the field of HIV/AIDS and Public Health.
Tejashree comes with an experience of 5 years in CSR and sustainability. At Samhita, she works with companies across sectors to formulate their CSR strategy, create CSR policy, design innovative CSR programs and help companies implement those by partnering with on-ground partners. Tejashree has MSc in International Development from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She completed her Bachelors in Economics and Masters in Sociology from the University of Pune.
Pooja Jethwani was previously employed at Edelman, where she handled communication strategy, media relations, digital marketing and overall account management for clients. Pooja has graduated with a Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery from Rajasthan University and a MBA in Public Health and Hospital management from Institute of Health Management Research , Jaipur.
Priyanka has extensive experience handling B2B marketing from her time at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. in the Industrial & Commercial BU. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Sustainability from TERI University, Delhi and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from BIT, Mesra.
Soumya has worked in the analytics and management consulting space with Mu Sigma and Amazon. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from BITS Pilani. She recently finished her Teach for India fellowship in Hyderabad where she taught 40 enthusiastic children in a low income government school. She is also the co-founder of a social initiative called Dramebaaz which uses theatre to empower children with life skills.
At Samhita, Rahul manages Strategic Financial Planning for CSR projects and platforms. He is a CFA Level III Candidate and holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR). Prior to Samhita, Rahul worked with Citigroup and ICICI Bank in the risk management and business consulting domain. He has also collaborated with Reserve Bank of India for a research paper on International Finance.
Prior to joining Samhita, Solomon worked with iVolunteer, where he managed the Corporate Employee Volunteering program, Senior Management probono initiative and Skilled Volunteers. Solomon holds a Masters degree in Social Work from College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan. He completed his Bachelors in Sociology and Anthropology from St.Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
Sandhya has worked in the sustainability and research domain for over six years. Sandhya holds an MSc degree in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and she has done here Bachelors in Business Management from Bangalore University.
Sandhya Tenneti comes with more than six years of work experience in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) field. She has a Bsc (hons) from the University of Bradford, Masters in International Studies from North Carolina State University and a MS in Energy Policy and Climate from Johns Hopkins University.
Prior to joining Samhita, Ruma was an editor with Aldnor Healthmedia and Gardner Healthcare Communications Ltd. She was also a Senior Executive at Stelis Biopharma, the biotech branch of Strides Arcolab. Ruma holds a PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from The Ohio State University. She also worked as a Post-Doctoral Scientist at The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital as part of her PhD.
Manglesh comes with 5 years of experience over multiple sectors, including IT, Market Advisory and Consulting and the food and beverage industry. An engineer by qualification, Manglesh has completed his PGDM in Operations from KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai.
Prior to joining Samhita, Rasikha worked as a Research Associate at NEERMAN, handling projects in monitoring and evaluation and impact assessment for clients ranging from corporate to multi-national organizations and donor agencies. She has also interned with Frost & Sullivan and MS Swaminathan Research Foundation.
A desire to pursue a career in social sector research led Richa to intern with the Tata Steel Rural Development Society followed by a traineeship with Samhita. Her roles in both capacities included fieldwork, quantitative and qualitative analysis. Richa completed her Bachelors in Economics Honours from Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi.
Prior to Samhita, Vasudev was a fellow at Teach For India where he strived to provide excellent education to his students and worked on developing a training module for teachers. He co-founded an organization which provides livelihood opportunities to rural women and has worked as a recruiter and trainer in skill development. Vasudev graduated with a B. Tech in Information Science and Technology from KL University, Vijaywada.
Sneha has a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Mumbai and a double Masters with an MBA in Finance and an MBS in International Business from the Brussels Business School. She has worked both in the pharmaceutical industry as well as with financial consulting companies.
Anirudhan’s aspiration to work in the development sector led him to join Samhita.
Prior to Samhita, he worked in the Engineering Research Center at Tata Motors for three years, followed by a one year PG Diploma in Liberal Studies from the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University. As part of the program, he interned with International Innovation Corps (IIC) on Millennium Alliance – a grant-making body for social entrepreneurs in collaboration with USAID, FICCI and World Bank.
Prior to Samhita, Devaki worked at Strategic Foresight Group, a Mumbai-based think tank on water diplomacy in the Middle East. She also interned with the United Nations in Beirut and Doctors Without Borders in Paris. She has a Masters degree in International Public Management from Sciences Po Paris, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Masters degree in French translation from the University of Pune.
Pranav’s innate desire to bring about social change made him join Samhita. Prior to Samhita, he was part of the Young India Fellowship program, where a Post Graduate Diploma in Liberal Studies exposed him to the many underlying complexities of India’s prevalent social issues. He has also worked at Mu Sigma, an Analytics firm in Bangalore for two years.
Before joining Samhita Shagorika worked with Action for India, New Delhi as a Communications and Research Intern. She holds a Masters in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and a Bachelors in Economics (Honours) from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
Prior to Samhita, Alisha interned at the Center for Environmental Research and Education and Sanctuary Asia Magazine which led her to pursue a career in sustainable development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Franklin and Marshall College.
Rachel’s inclination towards the development sector comes from her experience of working with the Synodical Board of Social Services, Church of North India. Rachel holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, a Master’s from the University of York and a PG Diploma in Communication for Development from Xavier’s Institute of Communication.
Sumayya comes with over 5 years of experience in handling and managing accounts of several NGOs. Prior to Samhita, she has worked with NGOs such as Magic Bus India Foundation and Akansha Foundation where she was responsible for managing all the accounting work up to finalization.
Prior to joining Samhita, Ryan worked at Oxfam India, where he managed volunteer engagement, was a part of organising Oxfam Mumbai Trail walker 2015 and worked with the corporate partnerships team. Ryan completed his Bachelors in Information Technology Engineering from Mumbai University.
Prior to joining Samhita, Sharmin worked at Blue Cross Blue Shields, a health insurance company, where she was part of the Branding and Marketing team. She is a Mass Media graduate from Mithibai College and has pursued a Master’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Suffolk University, Boston, MA.
Shruti Neelakantan is a Journalism graduate who has recently completed her Erasmus Mundus Masters in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management from Lund University, Central European University and University of Manchester. She has previously been involved in projects with numerous development organisations including the UNDP, UNEP, UNFCCC and most recently with the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society in Munich, Germany.
Aby graduated with a degree in Industrial Psychology from M. S. University of Baroda and pursued his Master’s in Social Work thereafter from Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work. Aby worked with The Lighthouse Project prior to Samhita, and comes with experience in the fields of education and livelihood. His achievements also include managing a mentoring program with 150 mentors and mentees, organizing city-level events and liasing with college students and companies to raise awareness about various social issues.
A strong desire to bring a positive difference to the community around him drew Anmol to Samhita.
Prior to joining Samhita, Anmol completed his B.E (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering along with a minor in Politics, Economics & Philosophy from BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus.
Anmol is the only student in the history of his university to have been elected by students as the President and General Secretary and also be nominated by Hon’ble KM Birla to represent his campus at the Senate level.
An Economics graduate from Punjab University, Chandigarh, Spriha’s interest in the development space led her to intern with Youth Alliance, an organization focused on fostering responsible youth leadership. There she participated in programs based in rural India. Her experiences during the Jagriti Yatra imbibed in her the spirit of social entrepreneurship.
Vigneshwaran is a post-graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay with a specialization in technology and development. During his years at IIT, Bombay he developed a keen interest in research pertaining to drinking water and clean cooking energies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked in various thermal power plants as a commissioning engineer.
Prior to joining Samhita, Clifford was working in Western Region Social Service Forum as a Resource Mobilization/Partner Support Officer where he was actively involved in fund mobilization, donor management, partner support services and disaster management. He has completed his Masters in Social Work from College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan Mumbai and Bachelor’s in Economics from St Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad.
Drashti’s determination to work for the social sector stemmed from being part of the Young India Fellowship program where she received a Post Graduate Diploma in Liberal Arts. While she was pursuing her Bachelors in Business Administration from NMIMS, Mumbai, Drashti was associated with the University’s Social Responsibility Forum for 3 years and volunteered at various NGOs.
Shreya is an economics graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. During her college years, she worked extensively with Make a Difference Foundation to increase learning levels among children in the villages of West Bengal. After graduating, she pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Liberal Studies as part of the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University.
A keen interest in the social sector and a desire to be a contributor to social change led Shama to join Samhita Social Ventures. She has previously interned with Environment Policy Research Organisation in India where she was actively involved in formulating sustainable waste management policies, qualitative research and policy analysis. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from St Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
Prior to joining Samhita, Mahi worked at Aangan, a child protection organisation. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Business Studies from the University of Warwick.
Vinay is a Development Economist with degrees from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and SOAS, University of London. He has previously worked with Ethex- a social investment platform in Oxford where he coauthored the UK’s first positive investing report in 2014 and interned with Ratnakar Bank where he worked with farmer co-operatives in rural Maharashtra.
Ojas’s desire to work in the social sector stems from her volunteering experience with Enactus, an international not for profit organisation that believes in leveraging entrepreneurial action to solve social problems. She was part of the Young India Fellowship, a one-year post-graduate diploma in Liberal Studies. She also has a bachelors degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce.
Anshula has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from SRM University and a PG Diploma in Liberal Studies from the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University. She has previously worked on designing and implementing a marketplace literacy program in rural Tamil Nadu in collaboration with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and with the artisans of Odisha to enhance their livelihood.
